Well now, it’s not quite OU related but It is huge news for us so it’s going up on the blog! I will background a little tho before hand. My Fiance was diagnosed with Scoliosis when she was 14 and had a major back operation at 16. This was in the form of a spinal fusion, basically 2 metal rods screwed into the spine to hold it in place. After being told by all the top spinal Doctors that she would never do Gymnastics again, she proved them wrong and started training again. This was when she discovered the British Gymnastics GMPD (Gymnastics and Movement for People with a Disability).
This gave Stacie something to work towards, a National Championships to aim for and to push herself every day. Needless to say, I am writing this as a proud partner, as the weekend just gone she defended her National title and brought hom the Gold once again. This is now the 4th year that she has won this, even pushing through ligament damage on a knee to take the title. Still not satisfied, has now maybe been talked into competing trampolining aswell, there is no rest for Stacie! Will update this with photos when they have been ordered!
The only thing I am slightly bitter about is that this is as high as Stacie can go. There is no Paralympics for Gymnastics otherwise she would be there competing in London next year. Unfortunately as long as I have been with Stacie there has really been no progress in this, which is a huge shame.

She certainly does! Working hard to keep defending her title for as long as she can!
